Kyle Alexander Dowdy (born 3 February 1993) is an American former professional baseball pitcher whose Major League Baseball appearances came with the Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Indians. A right-hander, he graduated from the Francis Parker School in San Diego in 2011 and enrolled at the University of Hawaii, where as a freshman he posted a 3.06 ERA across thirteen games for the Rainbow Warriors.

He transferred to Orange Coast College for his sophomore year — 6-3 with a 2.38 ERA and sixty-two strikeouts in seventy-five and two-thirds innings — before moving to the University of Houston, sitting out 2014 after Tommy John surgery and returning in 2015 to go 9-2 with a 2.45 ERA. The Detroit Tigers drafted him in the 12th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He worked his way up the Tigers’ chain through West Michigan, Lakeland, Erie and Toledo, earning Midwest League and Florida State League All-Star selections, before being traded to Cleveland in 2018.

The New York Mets selected him in the 2018 Rule 5 Draft; the Texas Rangers claimed him off waivers in March 2019 and added him to their 25-man roster. He made his major-league debut on 28 March 2019 against the Chicago Cubs, allowing three runs over two innings of relief. He was designated for assignment on 25 July with a 7.25 ERA across twenty-two and a third innings, and returned to Cleveland’s organisation, finishing the season with the Akron RubberDucks and Columbus Clippers.
