Who we are

This website (odubhda.org) is operated by the O’Dubhda Clan (legal entity name and registration number to be confirmed by the Council). The Clan’s registered address is in Ireland and will be published here following the next Council meeting. For all data-protection enquiries, write to privacy@odubhda.org.

What information we collect

  • Contact form submissions: name, email address, the message you send, the routing category you select, and your IP address. Submissions are stored for 90 days and then deleted.
  • Membership records (if you join the Clan): name, postal address, email address, payment information processed by our payment provider (Stripe / Paid Memberships Pro), and a record of dues paid.
  • Server logs: IP address, browser type, and referring page (kept for 30 days for security and diagnostics).
  • Cookies: the site uses strictly-necessary cookies for caching and login. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Lawful basis for processing

  • Contact form: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • Membership administration: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in clan administration (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Server logs: our legitimate interest in site security.

Who we share data with

  • Our hosting provider (GoDaddy / Plesk) processes server logs as a data processor.
  • Our payment provider processes membership payments under its own privacy notice.
  • We do not sell or share personal data with marketers, advertisers, or third-party data brokers.

International transfers

Some of our processors may be based outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or equivalent safeguards.

Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)

  • withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@odubhda.org. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission: dataprotection.ie.

Data retention

  • Contact form entries: 90 days.
  • Membership records: duration of membership plus 7 years (statutory requirement).
  • Server logs: 30 days.
