Honour an O'Dubhda — keep the clan's work alive for the next generation

Remembrance with a purpose

The O’Dubhda clan has carried its history in stone, in song, and in story for more than a thousand years. We continue that tradition today — through the websites that gather our research, the gatherings that bring our people home, and the quiet ongoing work of caring for the places that hold our memory.

A memorial gift in honour of an O’Dubhda you love is one of the most meaningful ways to support that work. Every euro goes directly into keeping the clan’s living archive online, in motion, and growing for the children and cousins who haven’t found us yet.

The suggested gift is €1,000, but every contribution — large or small — is gratefully received and put to immediate use.

TIERS OF GIVING

Where your gift goes

Up to €1,000

Keeping the Lights On

Smaller gifts go straight to the running of the clan’s digital home: web hosting, domain renewals, software licences, security and backup tools, and the steady editorial work of keeping pages accurate and alive.

Without these, none of the rest is possible.

€1,000

A Named Memorial

A gift at the suggested level establishes a named memorial in honour of your loved one — recorded permanently on the clan’s Folk Monuments page, and dedicated to a specific year of website upkeep, research, or a piece of preservation work in their name.

The honoured O’Dubhda is named, remembered, and tied to the work their gift made possible.

Above €1,000

Memorial Scholarships

When a memorial gift is large enough to do more than maintain — the surplus is set aside to seed memorial scholarships in the donor’s chosen name: travel bursaries for young O’Dubhdas visiting the homeland, support for genealogy or DNA research, contributions toward the conservation of clan sites, or grants for Irish-language and folklore study.

The honoured ancestor’s name carries forward into a living gift to the next generation.

Pledge a Memorial Gift

Tell us a little about the gift you’d like to make and the loved one you’d like to honour. We’ll be in touch personally within a few days with bank-transfer details and to talk through how the memorial will be recorded.

Online card payments will be enabled soon — in the meantime, all pledges are handled by hand, with care.
